“Marathon debut, many expectations and excellent final result”
Sunday April 2nd 2023 was the date of the Paris marathon. With more than 60.000 runners, it was one of the most partecipared sport events of the year.
The Paris Marathon of 2023 was an exceptional event that brought together thousands of passionate runners from around the world. The race, held on a beautiful spring day, provided participants with a unique opportunity to challenge their physical limits while exploring the streets of the french capital.
With its iconic start line at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, the marathon course showcased some of Paris’s most famous landmarks. Runners raced along the Champs-Élysées, soaking in the incredible atmosphere and the cheers of the enthusiastic crowd that lined the route. They continued past the Louvre Museum, ran alongside the Seine River, and even passed by the magnificent Eiffel Tower, which provided a majestic backdrop for unforgettable race photos.
I was there !!! It was my first marathon ever, so I did a conservative race pacing 3:57 min/km for a total race time of 2h:46min:29sec. Paying respect to the distance, I ran the fist half marathon split in 1h:23min:20sec, which at the time was 5 minutes over my personal best (PB) on the 21.097m distance, copying the same time for the second half of the race.
